Hold the Wine!
In my previous post, I mentioned firing up Wine to run old DOS games under Linux. Turns out that Wine is complete overkill. All you need is dos, (not the whole windows API,) so that's all you should emulate.Enter Dosbox. This little program can run just about any old dos game with sound and "real mode" memory drivers, allowing you to run most of your old favorites in a window on Linux.
