Jury Duty

Well, I've officially been selected as an alternate for a Jury. I'm sure it violates about 4 million laws if I post anything about the contents of the trial here, but suffice to say, the experience isn't all that bad, it's just horribly timed - I've got e-bay sales to ship out today! Damn democratic republic.

Moved in By Mistake

Well, I hadn't planned on moving us into the new apartment until thursday, but here I find myself sitting over in the new place typing away early in the wednesday AM... How did we get here you ask? I'll tell you

I had originally planned to do one room a night - that seems simple enough, except for the fact that our new place has more rooms - and a lot of the stuff was moving from the bedroom in our old place to the living room here. Especially the carpet. Of course, I wanted to put the carpet down first in the new living room, so I set about trying to pull it up.

Never - Ever - do that unless you plan to move everything that is also ON TOP of said carpet. Around 10PM, I finally cried uncle, told Sara I'd screwed up, and decided just to move the whole bed (which was now in pieces and all over the old apartment).

We got the bed and carpet moved over, and Sara went to sleep over here, and I began the task I'd set out to complete so many hours ago - complete one room tonight. I brought the entire entertainment center and my computer and desk over, and just for the hell of it, plugged it all in to the cable that was there. Next thing you know, the cable box has the correct time on it. I was puzzled and excited - maybe the cable was STILL ON from the old tenant, and he just happened to have the same exact RCN service we did? What are the odds of that?

Well, whatever the odds, you're reading this, which means that I got all of our internet and computer stuff hooked up and it just happened to work on the cable that's in here. I even have the same freaking IP address. Hat's off to RCN. Now tomorow all I have to do it call and tell them where to send the new bill.

Oh yeah. Right after my Jury duty... Grrr.
