Tis' the Season

::Ahhhhhhhhh::

This post basically one long digital sigh of relief.

Last night was the first time I've gotten a full nights sleep in a long time.

A month ago, Sara and I took on the task of renovating the apartment across the hall, and since that day, it's been night after late night of moving the old tenants crap out and down, organizing and moving our stuff, painting the new place, spackling, caulking, and doing TONS of minor repairs.

Beyond that, there were also some major renovations to be done, including replacing the bathroom vanity, the entire kitchen floor, the kitchen faucet, and scrubbing down what must have been a decade of filth from every surface in the apartment.

As of last night, we're officially done with all the hard stuff. All that's left now is a minor leak under the sink in the kitchen and some cleanup. We wish we'd taken some before pictures, but the "after" will have to do for now. Excuse the mess - We're still putting out stuff in and getting it where we want it to be!

New Apartment, Stuff for sale

Not half a year into our lease at our new apartment, and we're already moving again! This time, luckily, there's no stairs involved. - we're moving from apartment 3C to 3A.

The previous occupant had been in there for years, and seemingly never cleaned the place while he was in there. We're taking layers of filth off of everything and painting and spackling everything that stands still.

As for the stuff that we can move, we're doing exactly that, hopefully through craigslist, ebay, and tag sales. You can see the stuff in /photos and if there's anything you want, name your price. Literally. We just want to get this stuff out of here without throwing it all in the trash, and hopefully help our landlord make up some of the lost rent.

In other news, we're getting excited for Halloween! We're going to a "Celebrity Death" shindig on friday, and Mortalis, Nepthys, and Tearsong are coming up for Saturday at batcave! It's going to be a long, great weekend, and a nice and needed break from working on the new place!

Moving to astoria

Well, we've finally gotten the new place in Astoria livable, and there's quite a few "stories to tell" regarding the trials and tribulations of the move... But I'll leave those for later. In the meantime, take a look at the pictures!
