I’ve been working hard on some new stuff for Clipmarks and admittedly haven’t been paying as much attention as I’d like to the quiet traction that Clip-to-blog is gaining in the New Media space.

Clip-to-blog lets you clip the best parts of a web page and easily post them to your blog, and I’ve always hoped that my new media friends would see it as a great tool for keeping your blog up to date with fresh, relevant content. Recently, the awesome Adam Broitman wrote me for a little help getting clip-to-blog running on a.mediacirc.us, and he’s now clipping up a storm. Podcaster extraordinaire C.C. Chapman has also posted a few clips, and now new-media mavens Julia Patricia Roy and Amanda Mooney are going to town as well.

I’d love to hear from anyone else using Clip-to-blog - how it worked for you, if you liked it, what we can do to improve, etc. One thing that we’re definitely looking at is adding the ability to post to a specific category, what else should we add?

Clip-to-Blog is amazing. I had wanted to start a blog for over a year but didn’t think I would have the time to maintain daily posts. Clip-to-Blog makes it possible, because of how easy it is. I can simply use the Clipmarks application to “clip” snip-its of news or facts I find interesting and insert my two cents in the comments box and hit publish– and there is my blog post, done. Its easy, and the clips give the post a dynamic look!

    Hi Erik,
Thanks for including Julia and I in your post. Clipmarks is definitely one of my favorite new sites (out of the thousands that are dropped onto the Web each day:). One thing I love about clip-to-blog functionality is that it makes blogging so easy and effortless for a new blogger or someone rushed for time. Being able to reference an article or Web-based content is a nice cross between daily link posts and an original, composed blog post.

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking with one of my favorite podcasters, Bryan Person (http://www.bryper.com/) who told me he wanted to start clipping but was having an issue with his plugin. Maybe you can drop him a quick email to touch base?

Looking forward to seeing you at PodCamp.
